In section 5.2 below we will deduce the potential clustering and an upper bound on $N$ as consequences of almost quantitative calibratedness, and very mild conditions on the ambient manifold $X$. In section 5.5 the boundedness of $|\mathcal{S}-\bar{\mathcal{S}}|$ will be essential for relating the asymptote of the Solomon functional to stability conditions.
