To any $n$-dimensional balanced polyhedral complex $\Pi\subset\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ one may associate a convex lattice polyhedron $\Delta\subset\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ (defined up to translation) and a lattice subdivision of $\Delta$.
